ISLAMIC, Mongols. Great Khans. temp. Qubilay (Kublai), AH 658-693 / AD 1260-1294. Silver Washed Dirham (Bronze, 40 mm, 6.63 g, 2 h), 'tax money' series, Bukhara, AH 663 = AD 12664/5. In the inner field, 'Sikkah Bukhara' ('the coin of Bukhara' in Arabic); in three petals of the outer margin, 'al-Mulk' (probably an abbreviation of 'the power belongs to Allah' in Kufic) . Rev. In the inner field, the Chinese charakter 'ke' ('tax' in Chinese); in the outer margin, 'duriba hada al-dirham bi'l baldat al-faxirah sana thalat wa sittin wa sittami'ah' ('this dirham was struck at the Glorious City in the year six hundred and sixty three' in Kufic).
